The family is an ecosystem. And an ecosystem thrives when there is balance, communication, support, nurturance and respect.
Families come to therapy when this ecosystem is breaking down in some way. There may be disagreement between the parents and the children on rules or discipline. There may be arguing between the parents and children, or between siblings. There may be behavioural challenges happening with the kids at home or at school.
Often, we find that true listening is not occurring between members of the family and connections in the relationships have broken down. These days, this is often driven by busyness and technology.
In family therapy, we look at what’s broken down within the ecosystem and then we seek to repair these things and reconnect all family members. Our aim is to support you in repairing the relationships and bonds within your family ecosystem and restoring a sense of peace, respect and love.
